GENERAL SURGERY
The Department of General Surgery at Kothari Medical Centre deals with the widest range of surgical ailments and emergencies. Range of services covering minor swellings to complex abdominal surgeries and trauma cases. The Department provides all aspects of patient care related to each field of general surgery, including gastrointestinal, surgical oncology, vascular, and trauma and critical care surgery.
- Most abdominal surgeries are performed by laparoscopic technology (keyhole surgery)
- Backing this team of highly skilled surgeons are trained nurses and technicians are state-of-the-art operation theatres equipped with the latest medical technologies and equipment
- The Operation Theatres are one-of-a-kind in Eastern India
- All surgeries are performed under cardiac monitoring and pulse oxymetry
- Patients are kept in the recovery room for at least 2 hours before shifting to respective ITU or ward
- There are Five Operation Theatres which can be run simultaneously with the help of C-arm, enabling operative X-ray’s whenever necessary
- The sterilization center is separate from O.T. and lying out of tables is done in absolutely aseptic manner
- Different endoscopic surgeries are performed under video control, if necessary
- Kothari Medical Centre aims to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients of digestive, liver and pancreato-biliary diseases as well
- The Institute has the most advanced facilities and carries out, not only all major endoscopy and radiology-assisted procedures for GI, Liver and Biliary pancreatic disorders, but also runs a gastrointestinal and liver high dependency unit for critically sick patients
