Overview

The Department of Laboratory Medicine at Kothari Medical Centre has the most advanced tools and is staffed by trained technicians to provide complete diagnostic support while maintaining a patient-centric approach. All inpatients and outpatients receive laboratory testing from the laboratory. The department consists of both specialized and diversified areas like Biochemistry, Immunology, Hematology, clinical pathology, Histopathology, Cytology and Microbiology.

Quality control and quality assurance comprises an integral part of the services provided by this department. Competency assessment ensures that our employees are competent to perform laboratory testing and report accurate, relevant and timely results.

Services Offered

Blood tests

Blood tests are used to diagnose a wide range of conditions, such as anemia, infection, cancer etc. Blood tests can also be used to monitor the effectiveness of treatment and to detect early signs of disease. The Haematology Laboratory at the hospital is a state-of-the-art laboratory equipped with fully automated machines with latest technology. It has two fully automated 5-part differential cell counters for reporting routine blood counts, fully automated coagulation analyzers for bleeding and clotting disorders.

Immunology tests

Immunology tests are used to measure the body's immune response to infection and disease. Immunology tests can also be used to diagnose autoimmune diseases and allergies. The Biochemistry and Immunology Laboratory at Kothari Medical Centre is one of the largest state-of-the-art laboratories in Eastern India.

Tissue tests

Tissue tests are used to diagnose a variety of conditions, such as cancer, infection, and inflammatory diseases. Tissue tests can also be used to assess the severity of a disease and to monitor the effectiveness of treatment.

Microbiology tests

Our new-generation clinical microbiology laboratory concentrates on molecular, serological and immunological diagnostic tests for all infectious diseases besides the routine cultures.

Clinical Pathology

This entails testing of body fluids such as urine and saliva for the diagnosis of disease.

Biochemistry

We offer a range of biochemistry services include Lipid Profile, Thyroid Function Tests, Haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), Coagulation Studies, Electrolyte Panel, Serum Proteins, Uric Acid Tests, Renal Function Tests and others.

Psoriasis Treatment
