Overview
As a visitor to the hospital, you have certain rights and responsibilities. It is important to be aware of these rights and responsibilities to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all patients, other visitors, and staff.
Visitor Rights
- The right to be treated with courtesy and respect by all hospital staff.
- The right to be informed of the hospital's visitation policies and procedures.
- The right to visit the admitted patient during the designated visiting hours.
- The right to have confidential conversations with your loved one in private.
- The right to be involved in the patient’s care planning process.
- The right to file a complaint if there are concerns about the patient’s care or treatment.
Visitor Responsibilities
- The responsibility to respect the privacy and rights of all patients and visitors.
- The responsibility to be considerate of the needs of other patients and visitors by keeping noise levels down.
- The responsibility to follow the hospital's visitation policies and procedures.
- The responsibility to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before and after entering a patient's room.
- The responsibility to not visit if suffering from an illness that could be spread to other patients.
- The responsibility to respect the property of the hospital and other patients and visitors.
Additional Tips for Hospital Visitors
- Be sure to check the hospital's visitation policies and procedures before you visit.
- Be considerate of the patient’s rest and healing needs.
- Keep noise levels down in the patient's room and common areas.
- Avoid bringing large groups of visitors at the same time.
- Be respectful of the hospital staff and their time.
- By following these guidelines, you can help to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all patients, visitors, and staff at the hospital.
Assistance
- If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask a staff member for assistance.
- For any progress of treatment and detailed briefing of your patient, please discuss with your consultant doctor under whom your patient is admitted.
- The staff nurse and junior doctor can also help you.
- Any referral or transfer of case is made as per the instruction of your consultant, so for any type of further clarification if required, please discuss with the treating Doctor only.
- All incoming calls shall be connected to patients between 10.00 a.m. & 9.00 p.m.
- Patient’s relatives are advised to keep the number and duration of calls to the patients to the minimum in the best interest of their patients
Visiting Hours
At the time of admission Visitor’s Passes shall be issued to Patient’s Relatives by the Admission Department and the information regarding the policy of the same will also be explained appropriately. In coordination with Discharge Department, we will also ensure that the same issued passes are collected at the time of discharge, however during patient’s stay, if any loss or misplacement of the said pass occurs, then duplicate passes may be procured by contacting the “May I Help You Counter”.
Visiting Hours for Wards:
10.00 a.m. – 11.00 a.m. (All days)
4.30 p.m. – 6.30 p.m. (All days)
Visiting Hours for CCU / HDU:
5.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. (All days) In CCU / HDU only one visitor is allowed at a time
(Children below 12 years are not allowed)
It is advised to keep the number of patient visitors at the hospital to a minimum to avoid overcrowding and hospital-acquired infection.
Night Stay
- Single Room/Deluxe/Suite: One card per patient shall be issued from the Reception or Help Desk Counter at the Ground Floor.
- Patient’s relatives can stay at the Waiting Lounge on the Ground Floor with the permission from Administration.
